A fresh addition to everyday eating

Little leaves,
plenty to love.

Microgreens are young edible plants, cut just after their first leaves open. They bring colour, crunch and fresh flavour to food you already make.

  1. 01

    Tiny leaves, concentrated goodness

When USDA scientists tested 25 microgreens, many held 4 to 40 times more vitamins and carotenoids than the same plants fully grown. They're a natural source of vitamins like C, which contributes to the normal function of the immune system, and K, which contributes to normal bones. Levels vary by variety and harvest.

  2. 02

    Flavour makes it easy

A handful on toast, a fresh finish on soup, a crisp layer in a sandwich. No cooking, no fuss.

  3. 03

Fresher than anything on a shelf

Most salad greens spend days in lorries and on supermarket shelves before they reach you. Ours are cut to order a few streets away and delivered by hand, so they arrive crisp, full of flavour, and with days of freshness still ahead of them in your fridge.

A few good questions

New to
microgreens?

What are microgreens?

Microgreens are young vegetable plants, harvested 7 to 21 days after sowing, once their first leaves have opened. They're grown in a growing medium (ours is coco coir) with plenty of light, then cut just above the root, so you eat the tender stems and leaves. They pack the flavour of the full-grown plant into a small, crisp bite: peppery radish, sweet pea, nutty sunflower. They aren't sprouts, which are germinated seeds eaten whole, root and all, without ever seeing much light.

How do you grow them?

We start with organic seeds and grow them in high-quality coco coir, a natural fibre made from coconut husks. No chemicals or fertilisers are used at any stage: just seeds, coir, water and light. Our grow lights run on solar power whenever the sun allows, and we deliver by hand in our electric car. We care about nature, so we keep our footprint as light as our greens.

What is a live tray?

A live tray is a tray of microgreens delivered still growing in its coco coir, so you harvest them yourself, as you need them. Keep it somewhere bright but out of strong direct sun, water a little from below each day so the leaves stay dry, and snip just above the coir with clean scissors. Ask us which greens are ready when you request your sample.

How do I use and store them?

Keep them in the fridge in their box and give them a gentle rinse just before eating. They are at their best within a few days of cutting, so use them generously: on toast, in sandwiches, over soups or straight into a salad.

Can I order or arrange delivery now?

We're in our first-harvest stage, so we're starting with samples. Request one and we'll talk you through collection in Belmont or local drop-off around Sutton. Regular orders will follow as we grow.
